
How to Transfer Photos from iPhone to Computer: 4 Step-by-Step Tutorials

Photos are a great way to store memories though our iPhone space may limit storage. We will give you a step-by-step guide on transferring photos from your iPhone to the computer or another iPhone.
Method 1: Utilise Windows Photo App
Step 1: Connect your phone to your computer using a USB cable.
Step 2: Click “Allow” on the pop-up notification
A notification may show on your phone, prompting you to allow your iPhone to link to your computer. Press “Allow.”
Step 3: Open the Windows Photo application
Go to the search bar or your windows menu to launch the photos application.
Step 4: Import your photos.
On the top right of the photos tab, click import.
Click the option to import from your USB device.
Choose the images you want to import from your iPhone.
To change the import settings, click on “Import Settings.”
You can group your photos by month, date, or year for easy and quick access.
Click on the change import destination option to change the location your photos will be saved after importing.
After making your adjustments click on done to save the changes
Press the import selected button to transfer your photos.
Step 5: To view the photos, go to the collection menu of the Windows photo application.
Method 2: Using a USB cable
Step 1: Connect your phone to your PC with a USB cable
Step 2: Click allow if a notification bar pops up on your iPhone
Step 3: On your PC screen, click on “This PC”
Step 4: On the Devices and drives section right, click on the Apple iPhone option.
Step 5: A context menu will appear; tap the import pictures and videos option.
Step 6: Import your photos
Small import pictures and videos tab will pop up
Click more options if you want to change where your photos will be saved.
Most PCs have a default location for imported images in a folder. You can change it to your preferred area if you want.
Press next to allow your computer to scan the photos and videos on your iPhone.
Select the photos you want to transfer to your PC
Once you are done, tap the import button to transfer the photos.
You can view the photos on the import photos and videos folder or the destination you chose in case you selected another location.
Method 3: Use iCarefone
This applies when you have a lot of data you want to transfer that your Windows may take time to scan. A third-party application will be needed in this case.
Step 1: Download the iCarefone app on your PC and launch the application
Step 2: Link your iPhone to your computer with a USB cable.
Step 3: Click on Manage at the top of the tab to access all your photos and select the images you want to transfer.
Step 4: Import your photos
Tap the import option above the photos, and a pop-up bar will appear.
Select the place you want to save the photos from the pop-up tab
Press ok to complete the transfer.
If you have many photos selected, it may take a while.
Step 5: Once done, tap the open folder option to view your photos.
Method 4: Download photos from iCloud
Step 1: Go to your iPhone settings
Click on your Apple ID at the top

Go to iCloud

On the iCloud settings, click on photos.
Enable iCloud Photos to store your photos automatically on iCloud.
Step 2: Enter icloud.com on your PC google search bar.
Step 3: Key in your apple identification and your password to log in
Step 4: Go through the two-step authentication by keying the code sent to your device.
Step 5: Once logged in, click photos on your iCloud homepage.
You will have access to your iPhone photos
Step 6: Select all the images you want to import and tap the iCloud download symbol in the top right corner.
Step 7: The photos will be downloaded to your computer for viewing.

Bonus Part: How Transfer Photos from iPhone to iPhone
Method 1: Direct transfer through airdrop
Step 1: Ensure that the airdrop is turned on for both iPhones

Step 2: Go to the photo album of the iPhone with the photos you want to transfer.
Step 3: Select the photos you want to transfer.
Step 4: Once done, click the share button
Step 5: Select airdrop from the transfer options that pop up.
Step 6: Choose the iPhone device or person to transfer your files.
Step 7: You will get a notification on your other iPhone prompting you to allow the airdrop transfer. Click “Accept” to proceed.

Step 8: Your photos will now be available on your other iPhone.

Method 2: Use iCloud
Step 1:Adjust your old iPhone settings.
Go to settings on the phone with the photos and tap your name at the top.

Click on iCloud
Tap the photos option.
Enable the sync iPhone option if it is not turned on.
Step 2: Go to your new phone settings

Click on settings and tap the photo icon at the top
Put in your Apple ID password. Make sure you are signed in with the same account on both phones.
Click on iCloud
On the following slide, click photos.
Turn on the sync iPhone option if it is not on.
Step 3: Go to the photos app on the new phone
Your photos will start syncing with iCloud.
All your photos will appear on the photos application of the new phone.
Step 4: Storing the photos
iCloud has a limited free storage space; thus, you click on get more storage for more room.
Select the subscription of your choice.
Method 3: Use iCarefone
Step 1: Download the iCarefone application on your PC
Step 2: Connect your iPhone with iPhone to your PC

Step 3: Launch the iCarefone application on your PC
Step 4: Export your photos
Tap manage at the top of the iCarefone tab.
Your photos will appear on the app. Select the images you want.
Tap export on top of the photos
Choose the format you want your images to be exported. Select the original format.
Select a folder where the images will be saved.
Tap next.
Wait for the export process to complete.
Step 5: Connect your other phone to your PC with a USB cable
Step 6: Import the photos to your new phone.
On the iCarefone app, click manage
Select Import
Click the folder with the photos you exported.
Your photos will start being imported to the new phone.
You can now view your photos on both phones.
