How To Get Lower Image Quality on iPhone?
When editing photos on the iphone, the file size of photos are always large, and sending or sharing it via mail can be difficult. It is important to learn how to reduce the image size.
Step 1: Open Whatsapp
Go to the home screen and open whatsapp. In case you don't have whatsapp, you can use telegram.
Step 2: Open Any Whatsapp Chat
Open any chat on your whatsapp, as your friends chat. Ensure that your wifi and mobile network are off when you open the chat.
Step 3: Choose a Photo You will Use
Click on the plus icon to attach the photo. Here you can choose multiple photos from your gallery or even use a single photo.
Step 4: Photo Won't Be Sent
Once you have selected the photo, click send. The photo won't be sent since I have no wifi or mobile connection.
Step 5: Open the Image and Share
Since the photo will fail to be sent, open the image and click on save to a camera roll.
When you go back to your camera roll and see the image, open the image and check the size. If you go back to your image, you will find it has an image size of 3MB
However, the photo here has an image size of 170kb
How To Reduce Image File Size on Mac?
If you have a mac, the preview app is where you'll be able to preview all your photos. The app has software to help you lower the file size.
Step 1: Open Preview App
Open the preview app, then click on the file. Then click on export. The export will allow you to shrink the file.
Step 2: Change to JPEG
After clicking export, you will see a screen like this. Then click on format and change to JPEG.
Step 3: Adjust the Image Quality
Changing to JPEG will show you the new file size, which you can adjust to the quality. Most websites allow not more than 10Mb
Step 4: Save the Image
After choosing the size you want, save the image. By putting the old and new images side by side, the old was 25 megabytes, and the news was 15.8 megabytes. The size has been shrunk to a better size that you can use.
How to Resize Images with Photoshop?
We will look at how to resize an image in two different resizes. One is to take a large image, like 5000 pixels, and bring it down to something like 1900 pixels. The other way is to create a box and then put the image in that box by trimming off certain edges. This is done to fit into the new box, like if you had a web banner.
Resize the Overall Image
Step 1: Import the Image You Want to Use
Import the photo you want to use, and go down to image> image size. You will be able to see the image size of your picture.
Step 2: Lock Aspect Ratio
You can reduce the size and select where the little brackets come from. This locks the aspect ratio. You will see the image stretched out if you don't have that.
Lock the aspect ratio and bring it down to 1500 will make the image small. Click ok, and you will notice the size has dropped.
Step 3: Save the Image
Go to file > save us
Resizing Creating a Box
Step 1: Click on the Layers
Go up to the window and click on the layers tab if it's not highlighted, and it'll bring it up and bring it into focus.
The little box on the right or little lock clicks on it. Once you click on it, it will undo the lock, making it not a background but a layer. This prevents trimming of the photo.
Step 2: Select Canvas Size and Switch to Pixels
Go to image>canvas size where there are inches. In case you are working with web content, switch to pixels.
Step 3: Input the Sizes You Want
If you have specific dimensions like 900 height and 300 widths, input that and click ok.
You will notice the canvas has been trimmed down because of unlocking the background, and you can move the image within the new canvas. If you had it locked, it would have trimmed all the Images, and no date would have been left.
Step 4: Export Your Image
Once done, go to file>export> export, as you will see the new dimensions. You can change the format to JPEG or the quality. Once done, click the export button and export the picture anywhere you want.
