What size seamless paper do I need for my studio?

For headshots and tight crops, 53" (1.35m) wide is sufficient. For full-length portraits and groups up to 3–4 people, 86" (2.2m) is the standard choice. For commercial work or large groups, step up to 106" (2.7m). When in doubt, go wider — you can always mask off unused paper, but you can't add width back.

Can seamless paper be reused?

Yes — roll up unused portions after each session and trim away only what's been walked on or marked. Most rolls provide 30–60 sessions before the roll runs out, depending on usage.

Is Kate's seamless paper recyclable?

Yes. Kate's seamless paper is made from wood pulp and recycled fibers and is 100% recyclable. Roll up used sections and dispose of them with paper recycling — cleaner than vinyl, which isn't recyclable.

How do I hang seamless paper without a stand?

See our full guide: [How to Hang a Backdrop Without a Stand]. For paper rolls specifically, a wall-mounted roller bracket system is the most stable permanent solution. Tension rods work for lighter 53" rolls in smaller spaces.

Does Kate's paper work with strobe lighting?

Yes. The matte, non-reflective surface is designed specifically for flash and strobe setups — it absorbs light rather than bouncing it back, which prevents hot spots and ensures true color accuracy in your images.

What's the difference between white and gray seamless paper?

White paper creates a high-key, bright background — great for product isolation and clean editorial looks, but requires careful lighting to avoid blowout. Neutral gray is more forgiving: it flatters all skin tones, requires less light power, and produces a timeless professional look without retouching. Most portrait photographers stock both.
